MERGING
Back in New Zealand I put this Phage up in Auckland. Months later a friend of mine sent me this email: „Saw a Chinagirl piece on the wall up by Iron Bank!! It looked so at home that it took me a moment to realize
what it was.” What he described I call merging process of the tile.
When I put tiles up, the tiles merge together with the object they are put on. It’s like they have always been here. If you removed them, you‘d miss something. An excellent example of this merging process you can find at Kerosene Creek in New Zealand. When I put a shining golden Brainbugs tile up in bright green fern and moss covered stones and stepped aside to get my camera, it was like the tile become part of this whole scenery, you couldn’t tell it apart from the stones if you tried to.
